Magic Moon Books Blog
Well, I'm in the middle of moving, I am way past exhausted and fall asleep around midnight. But for some weird reason I wake up at 2:30 a.m. and decide to set my computer up. I check email and was surprised to get an email from Readers' Favorite saying I haven't logged in since Sept 1st to read the contest update. I tear off August of my Snoppy 2024 Desk Calendar and yep! there it is - a reminder to check Readers' Favorite on Sept. 1st. It is now September 9th. So I checked it out and am extremely surprised to find out that the book I entered, Magic Moon: A Young Boy's Journey (Vol. 1) WON Honorable Mention in Children - Christian category! Magic Moon is THRILLED! His head was already too big and now this! We are all extremely happy! The book will also be sold at the Miami Book Fair International Nov. 17-24th! I will be flying to Miami to the Hilton Miami Airport Blue Lagoon Hotel with my daughter Shilo and granddaughter Gwen to receive the award! Kudos to Marilyn Whitchurch, Illustrator, and all my loved ones who've helped with this book series! (See the "ABOUT" section.)

"Enchanting story with a good moral. A great example of thinking about others before yourself."

"This is a great character building story. I read this story several times every year to my 3rd and 4th grade students to help them grasp the idea that we can be happy when we help other find their happiness. I recommend it!!"

"This book is great! It teaches kids a very important principle in life to help them be happy in a very clear and relative way for them. Plus, the story is long enough to engage children, but not too long so as to bore them. It's a fun book that would be great for kids of all different ages! The artwork is pretty dang sweet too :D"
